SPORTS RECOVERY · SUNNYVALE
Sports recovery massage in Sunnyvale for back, hips & legs.
Focused massage for training soreness, repetitive activity and the back, hips and legs that feel shortened after a demanding week.
START WITH HOW IT FEELS
Support recovery without forcing range.
Sports recovery massage combines broad pressure, focused deep-tissue work and movement-aware care. Back walking may be included when appropriate and comfortable; every technique is adjusted to your body and preferences.
Large muscle focus
Back, glutes, hips and legs receive broad, controlled work for a grounded recovery session.
Built around your activity
Tell us whether the tension follows lifting, running, cycling, court sports, physical work or long hours sitting.
Recovery, not punishment
The goal is comfortable movement and muscular relaxation—not the strongest pressure you can tolerate.
BODY AREAS & MUSCLE FOCUS
Match your recovery session to the muscles you use.
Tell us about post-workout soreness, lower-back discomfort, hip tightness or tired calves. We plan the session around your activity and the areas you want prioritized.
Glutes & outer hips
Gluteus maximus covers much of the buttock; gluteus medius lies toward the outer hip. These regions can be included when your hips feel tight after cycling, lifting or long periods at a desk.
Thighs & calves
Quadriceps are at the front of the thighs and hamstrings at the back. Gastrocnemius and soleus form the calf muscle group. Tell us whether running, stairs or standing shifts leave these areas feeling tired.
Back & shoulders
Erector spinae muscles run along the back, while latissimus dorsi spans the sides of the mid-to-lower back. A longer session can combine these larger areas with shoulder work after strength training or physical tasks.
How does your workday feel in your body?
For people balancing desk work with running or gym sessions, the priority may shift from hips and lower back to legs. For healthcare, retail or warehouse workers, long standing shifts and repeated lifting may be the more relevant context.
FOCUSED CARE + FULL-BODY RELAXATION
Recovery across the whole body
Begin with the muscles used most in training or physical work—back, hips, thighs or calves—then include shoulders and arms. A longer session gives time for broad relaxation alongside a specific recovery focus.
WHAT TO EXPECT
From warm-up to focused recovery.
Name the activity pattern
Tell us what you do, when soreness appears and which movement currently feels restricted.
Work from broad to specific
The session begins with larger muscle groups before moving to the areas asking for more attention.
Finish slower
Gentler finishing work helps the body settle after deeper or movement-focused techniques.

Clear answers before you book.
Can sports recovery massage focus on sore calves and hamstrings?+
Yes. Request a leg-focused session and describe your recent activity. The therapist can plan work around calves, hamstrings and quadriceps at a comfortable pressure. Ninety or 120 minutes allows room for glutes and back as well.
Should I book before or after a workout?+
For a deeper recovery session, many guests prefer a rest window after the appointment. Before an event, request lighter, shorter work rather than intense pressure.
Does sports massage include back walking?+
Back walking is available when it fits your goals and comfort. It is not required, and pressure is always adjusted.
Can you focus only on hips and legs?+
Yes. A 60-minute session can center on one lower-body priority. Choose 90 or 120 minutes for lower-body work plus back, shoulders or full-body massage.
Is this medical treatment?+
No. Lyra Spa provides wellness massage for muscular relaxation, everyday comfort and recovery support. We do not diagnose or treat medical conditions. Sudden, severe, worsening or neurological symptoms should be evaluated by a healthcare professional.
Should I choose 60, 90 or 120 minutes?+
Choose 60 minutes for one clear priority, 90 minutes for a priority area plus connected areas or full-body work, and 120 minutes when several areas need unhurried attention.
Where do I park?+
Free parking is available behind the building. Lyra Spa is the second shop on the right. Please arrive 5–10 minutes early for your first visit.
