Point to Where Your Back Feels Tight
You do not need to know massage terms. Tell us the location, the feeling and the pressure you prefer—we will personalize the session around your comfort.
How booking works: Compare services, prices and session lengths on our booking page, then continue securely to choose your therapist, enhancements and live appointment time.
Which Area Feels Most Like Yours?
These are common muscle-tension patterns, not diagnoses. Choose the closest match and your therapist will confirm the focus before the massage begins.
Between the Shoulder Blades
A stubborn knot, a tight band, or a tired burning feeling after screens, driving or rounded shoulders.
Common muscle area: trapezius, rhomboids and the muscles that connect the neck to the shoulder blade.
Recommended: 90 minutes when the neck, shoulders and upper back feel connected. Choose 60 only for one short, focused area.
Beside the Spine or Waistline
A deep one-sided ache, compressed feeling, or tightness after standing, lifting, commuting or sleeping awkwardly.
Common muscle area: lumbar paraspinals and quadratus lumborum—the deep support area between the ribs and hip.
Recommended: 90 minutes so the therapist can begin gradually and include the hip or glute when those areas feel connected.
Low Back, Hips & Glutes
Pulling across the beltline, stiff hips, or tired glutes after sitting, workouts, travel or long days on your feet.
Common muscle area: lower-back muscles, gluteal muscles and deep hip rotators that often feel tight together.
Book: 90 minutes so the therapist has time for the connected back-and-hip area without rushing.
Heavy From Shoulders to Hips
Widespread stiffness, muscle fatigue, or several areas that all feel tight at the same time.
Common muscle area: the full back chain, including shoulders, spinal support muscles, waist, hips and glutes.
Recommended: 120 minutes for several connected areas, a slower pace and a deeper full-body sense of relaxation.
Not sure which card fits? Book the time you want and point to the area when you arrive. Your therapist will adjust the plan.
Three Things We Need From You
No complicated intake language. Clear feedback helps us make the massage feel focused, comfortable and personal.
Show the Location
Point to the exact area and tell us whether it stays local or feels connected to your neck, hip or glute.
Describe the Feeling
Tight, heavy, achy, stiff, knotted or tired is enough. You do not need to identify the muscle yourself.
Choose Your Pressure
Start light, medium or firm. Pressure can be changed at any time and should remain within your comfort.
Add One for a More Targeted Session
Each enhancement has a different purpose. Pairing the right option with your massage can make the experience feel more focused, complete and personalized.
Hot Stone
Soothing warmth is integrated over selected back areas to help the body settle and make focused massage feel more comfortable.
Distinct experience: warmth and gradual relaxation.
Pairs well with: lower-back fatigue · whole-back tension
Trigger Point
Slower, precise pressure is added around one stubborn muscle knot while the intensity is adjusted to your feedback.
Distinct experience: concentrated attention on one exact tight spot.
Pairs well with: shoulder-blade knots · one-sided upper-back tension
Back Walking
Broad, controlled bodyweight pressure is added over suitable larger muscle areas for guests who enjoy firmer work.
Distinct experience: wide, even pressure rather than one small pressure point.
Pairs well with: full-back fatigue · larger tight muscle areas
Cupping
Silicone cups create a gentle lifting sensation over selected back areas. Temporary circular marks can occur.
Distinct experience: lifting sensation instead of downward pressure.
Pairs well with: stubborn upper-back or lower-back tightness
Gua Sha
A smooth-edged tool is used with massage oil over selected areas for focused, warming surface work.
Distinct experience: targeted tool-assisted strokes and warmth.
Pairs well with: neck-and-shoulder tension · upper-back tightness
Important: These are enhancements paired with a scheduled massage—not separate treatments. Except for included Hot Stone, optional add-ons have an additional price. They cannot be booked or performed as stand-alone services. Results and sensations vary by guest.
Why We Recommend 90 or 120 Minutes
Longer sessions give the body time to settle, allow pressure to build gradually and let the therapist work connected areas without rushing.
Short & Focused
Suitable for one main area when time is limited. There is less time for several connected areas or extended relaxation.
View 60-Minute Options90 Minutes
Enough time to warm up gradually, focus on the back and include connected neck, shoulder, hip or glute tension at an unhurried pace.
View 90-Minute Options120 Minutes
Our recommendation for several focus areas, slower detailed work and a complete full-body massage with deeper overall relaxation.
View 120-Minute OptionsQuick Answers Before You Book
I have one stubborn knot beside my shoulder blade. What should I book?
We recommend 90 minutes when the knot feels connected to your neck, shoulders or the other side of your back. Choose 60 minutes only when you want one short, focused area.
My lower back and hips both feel tight. Is 60 minutes enough?
We recommend at least 90 minutes. Choose 120 minutes when you want the lower back, hips and glutes addressed along with a complete full-body massage and deeper relaxation.
Can the therapist focus only on my back?
Yes. Tell us which areas matter most and which areas you want avoided. Your scheduled time can be centered on the back and its connected muscle areas.
I sit at a computer all day. Which areas usually need attention?
Desk-related tension often feels connected across the neck, shoulders, shoulder blades, lower back and hips. Choose 90 minutes when several of these areas feel tired together.
Can I request deep pressure for my lower back?
Yes, but pressure is increased gradually and adjusted to your comfort. Stronger pressure is not automatically more effective, especially when an area feels irritated or sensitive.
Can massage treat sciatica or a disc problem?
Lyra Spa does not diagnose or treat nerve or spinal conditions. If you have a medical diagnosis and massage is appropriate for you, the therapist may work carefully with surrounding muscle tension within your provider’s restrictions.
Which enhancements can I pair with Back Massage?
Hot Stone is included. Trigger Point and Back Walking are optional +$15 add-ons; Cupping and Gua Sha are optional +$25 add-ons. Every enhancement is integrated into your scheduled massage and cannot be booked by itself.
When is massage not the right first step?
Seek medical care first for a serious new injury, fever, worsening numbness or weakness, difficulty walking, pain traveling below the knee, or loss of bladder or bowel control.
